President
Merlin Aventurin is a true Son of the Soil and has been a member of WIEMS since 1991. He started his official contribution to the community of St. Maarten in 1981 and has moved from Basic First Aid provider over the years to an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and an EMS Instructor for WIEMS. He continues to devote his time to pass on his knowledge and skills to the members and community.
President
Xaviera Jessemay is an experienced BLS / CPR/AED instructor and EMT. Driven by a strong sense of volunteerism she is driven to volunteer in the community. As a board member of WIEMS her goals include broadening community outreach, improving organization visibility, and promoting first aid skills.
Secretary
Doris Wilson-Dedier is currently the Secretary of the Board of the WIEMS Organization. She believes the work that WIEMS does equips members of the community with different levels of lifesaving skills. She is proud to be a member of the Windward Island Emergency Medical Service. .
Course Coordinator
Verna Patricia Patterson is a Guyanese by birth and currently resides in St. Maarten. She has been an EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) for over 10 years and an active member within the WIEMS organization. Presently, she is serving on the WIEMS Board as the Course Coordinator and tasked with the responsibility of planning, organizing, teaching, finalizing and delivering all the AHA Courses. She is very appreciative of being a part of this progressive organization.
Treasurer
Reshma Jermin was born in St. Martin and is currently the Treasurer. She completed her education on the island and obtained her Associate’s Degree in Business Management from the University of St. Matin. She enjoys helping out the community in her free time.
Medical Director
Dr. Simmons joined the WIEMS organization in 2014. As Medical Director, Dr. Simmons is responsible for overseeing the EMS training and services in the organization. Since 2012 he is the Managing Director and Attending General Physician at Pure Health B.V. - Medical Clinic. Dr. Simmons' interests include jogging, volleyball, listening to music, reading medical science literature and looking at medical science documentaries.
Public Relations & Vice President
Micaela Hart has a passion for volunteering in her community. She is a certified EMT and a BLS instructor for the past few years, and enjoys teaching persons in the community how to save a life.
